timber harvesting

Realising the value of your woodland

timber harvesting

IRTH (Ian Robb Timber Harvesting) harvest a broad spectrum of forestry and woodland.  From commercial forests, smaller investment woodlands, farm shelter belts, estate woodlands and even golf courses.  Conifers and broadleaves.  Using our state of the art agile and lightweight equipment we can often reach and harvest tress that many other contractors simply cannot.

Work is undertaken on clearfell, windblown and thinning sites for a wide range of clients, whether commercial forests or private woodlands.  No volume of timber is too big or too small.
When required, we can draw upon several carefully chosen specialist contractors to assist with very large or complex harvesting operations.

Following an initial assessment and site visit, Ian Robb Timber Harvesting Ltd (IRTH) can handle every detail of the felling operation.  From advising on whether felling or thinning is required to acquiring the felling licence and even liaising with utility firms and local authorities where their services or roads maybe impacted by the felling operation.  IRTH will stack the timber at your chosen location or arrange with timber hauliers to remove it from site.

Combining state of the art equipment with traditional forestry skills

low impact harvesting

With access to smaller and lighter machinery IRTH can perform environmentally sensitive harvesting that larger, less manoeuvrable equipment often cannot manage.  This makes IRTH ideal for jobs where the lowest environmental impact is required or where space is limited or access restricted.  We focus on leaving the site in the same (if not better) condition as before the harvesting took place.

Difficult Terrain Expertise

Our extensive experience means we can safely operate on all levels of terrain, including steep inaccessible slopes, tight restricted areas, and locations close to human activity.  We specialise in operating in difficult terrains and do so competently and safely.

We frequently operate in woodland that form part of sporting estates where there are only limited occasions when harvesting can take place.
